When she realized she wasn't going to get anything more than conversation from me, she moved on, but she left me the book to read.  I skimmed through a few pages of mediocre writing and wondered who had taken a chance on this woman and published this book.  The answer: no one.  The book was self published.  And suddenly, it was possible...

There are so many dreams I put on the shelf until 'later', 'when I have more time'.  This of course will never happen.  The time is now and the genesis of the project is here.  There are many good reasons why I can't pull this off, but I think there are more reasons why I can.  We can talk about those later, for now, follow my idea into the obscene and fantastic....

A book, divided into poetic themes, made up entirely of works previously published only on the Internet by a strong and growing community.  The risk of money and time would be mine along with the few brave souls along for the ride, the rewards would be everyone's.  Imagine selling enough copies to pay for the costs of publishing.  Imagine selling enough to give everyone who contributed a free copy of the book.  Imagine success to the level where proceeds could fund writing scholarships and spawn compilations of other forms of writing and art.... it can be done.

It won't happen over night.  The logistics are still formative and research needs to be done, but this is possible.  Read on...
