So
I was surfing around one day, reading all the beautiful poetry that net
goths have to offer and I had a simple idea. Why not gather some
of this amazing work (I hesitate to say 'the best of' because that's so
subjective) and publish a book full of the spirit of our souls that we've
poured out onto this new world paper. Certainly couldn't be an original
idea and definitely one that would be difficult to execute against... but
then the idea grew and festered in my brain.....
I was in a strip club in San Francisco one night, the kind where they don't serve alcohol, a Coke is $5 and all the real action happens in the back rooms on dirty couches for $20 a song. I was out about $85 when one of the women sat down to make conversation. This type of conversation is usually short, ending in an akward segue into 'Would you like a private dance?'. We started talking about the business of stripping (something I know a little about having worked in the bus) and lo and behold she produces a book that she's written about her life in the business. As Thomas Magnum used to say: I know what you're thinking: 'How are these two paragraphs related you drunk idiot?!' Well, indulge me another click and I'll tell you... |
